The scope included client requirements, concept design, development applications, acquisition of land parcels, securing diverse high voltage power supplies, detailed design, tender and awarding of the construction, and planning for acceptance and operations.
- Project manager for the design and the superintendent for the technology fit-out of a cost conscious 500 square metre Tier III data centre for an Australian Stock Market listed IT services provider. The scope included client requirements, concept design, detailed design, tender and awarding of the construction, procurement of all long lead time plant and oversight of the integrated system testing.
- Project manager for the design and the superintendent for the construction of a 500 square metre Tier III data centre and Network Operations Centre for an international carrier. A further 2000 square meters will be built out in a modular fashion.
- Project management and design services for the development a 500 square metre Tier III standard international submarine fibre cable landing station in the Middle East. The scope included project planning, client requirements, design services including the cable route design from the beaching landing, and budget development.
Technical Real Estate
- Completed a property market search for an international data centre operator to short-list suitable locations within metropolitan Melbourne to build a 10 000 square metre Tier III data centre. Nominated locations had to meet stringent selection criteria including high capacity and redundant services to site.
- Assisted government to facilitate suitable location options within the state for an international investor. The investor required two existing facilities for primary and back-up sites.
Technical, Technology and Industry Market Research
- Completed a state wide review of outsourced and in-house data centres to provide a high level overview of data centre capability for a government client.
- Completed a mission-critical facilities market research project for a client, a global leader in electronics and electrical engineering. This included creating a value proposition for their technology products and services, testing it with stakeholders and preparing market development recommendations.
- Completed a survey of regional Victoria to identify suitable locations for technology buildings such as telecommunication, data centre and call centre facilities for a government client.
Advisory Services
- Assisted a leading Australian Data Centre Operator to tender and award building management technology solutions to achieve best global practice and significant cost reduction.
- Provided subject matter expertise to assist a team of leasing specialists, quantity surveyors and accountants, to undertake return on investment analysis for data centre ownership scenarios.
- Represented an international financial services company source data centre co-location space which meets their requirements and is cost competitive.
